You want to hide files in Windows, do you want to hide them from other users or... and since you mentioned documents and settings I'll assume its an XP or 2000 machine, so the best thing to do is get a copy of MagicFolders, which will hide folders and then when you want to see them you put in a floppy disk which acts as your password, or/and you can set a password. It compeltely hides the folders unless people know exactly where to look and how :).

I don't bother with flaming, its a waste of my time, but why are you asking this in a Linux security forum? At the very least you should have posted in General.

I usually go for encrypted volumes, like E4M uses. Just save the volum on removable media, and load the driver only on demand (the only giveaway, but useless unless disk left mounted). If you don't care for having the data on the fs and the data isn't critical, then save it as something inconspicuous like %WINNT%/system32/data32.dat. Other methods could be a GPG/PGP encrypted volume and/or steganography.
