Radio France - About the science of ignorance: When the industry hornswoggle us.

You don't like other languages than English in this forum. Well pity.

But those of you who take pleasure in demolishing barriers and cross over [stuff] to see what's on the other side and learn...

Here is a documentary series on France Culture which is once again giving proof of their prudently exercised subversion and clearly announced partiality. Partial journalism is of utmost importance, when all topics of interest are anyway dominated by the anyway dominating, though useless.

Yesterday's broadcast clarifies what agnotologie stands for. Either get it from the Web-Site or download the MP3 from here.

Otherwise, the following episodes are aired each day from 17h to 18h. The current series runs until Thursday 3. Mai.

I could make allusions to Linux and Free Software, but I let you do that.

Is the series in French? My American high school French was a long time ago. If it's available in English or with subtitles, I'll give it a whirl.

Sorry. If it were available in English, my above post would have taken a completely different... orientation.

Drat.

If you could have heard me trying my high school French in Montreal (mumble) years ago, I'm sure you would have been as amused as the restaurant staff.

I must say it was when Quebec separatism was a thing and one of them told me they appreciated the effort.

As an aside, I appreciate your effort. Too many Americans are woefully insular in their thinking about the rest of the world.

This could be a separate thread, though. I appreciate Paul Lutus' way to talk about the educational system. When a European reader made a remark about the bias in one of Mr. Lutus texts, the latter wrote something like: “Stop! You are European. You must not read my text like it were meant for you.”. This says a lot about “background” but also that, if reality is perceived nowhere in the same way, you must at least condone the fact. It also explains, why I did not go so far as to talk about islanders...

I spouted out my “demolishing barriers” in a bad mood and omnidirectionally... But you were homing alright on just one of the “beams”

VOS - Very High Frequency Omnidirectional Spouting Range. “We do not receive the beacon but we see it gesticulate. Over.
