Problem getting window to boot with linux

Hi ,
The title may be misleading. What happened is that my system originally had Linux Fedora Core 2 and Windows on it .
I formatted the hard drive and decided to make Windows the only OS. So when formatting i deleted the linux partition. Now i was trying to boot back up and the error message reads: " operating system cannot be found".
Seeing this i decided install Red hat on one of the partitions and copy LILO into the MBR. When i did this i was able to get into Windows but not red hat ( dont know what happened there).

After all of this i got greedy and decided to delete Red hat, now once i did that and tried to boot up again i came back to the same error message:
"cannot find operating system".

I hope you were able to follow all of that ... basically what i want to know is how from this stage i am going to get my computer to run Window only without reinstalling a linux OS in an effort to boot up ????

Hi, you 'd be more detailed, eg: do you have a single HD or more? How are partitions arranged?
At a first sight it appears you have a single HD with two partitions, one for Linux and the other for wins.
Were this the case, if you haven't files you don't want to miss under windows, my suggestion is a plain,
total formatting of the disk after deleting all partitions on it. You can do this during a new Windows installation.
If you don't want to miss some file, well, re-install RedHat as before, re-gain temporary windows control,
save your data and go top.
Bye
Alberto

You still have lilo sitting in the mbr - a disk format won't touch the mbr. In the windows commandline (or using the windows boot disk) do "fixdisk /mbr". That will delete lilo and you'll be able to boot windows as normal
