Posting at work

Who here posts at work? I do, in fact that is where a massive bulk of my posting has been. Tonight I spent 11 out of 12 hours on the internet, and the other hour was watching star trek TNG. Since I am a Pharmacy Technician in the Navy this is not normal for my job. This is your tax dollars hard at work! ha ha ha.

Anyway, who else is guilty, and what do you do?

Cool

Finegan: master library clerk, oh and I think I post quite a bit on the job...

12 hour days eh?

I much prefer being a civilian, I only have to work ten hours at a shot. Then again I never get to watch Star Trek re-runs...

Georgia Tech University library, yeah your tax dollars at work again :p

Cheers,

Finegan

I spend my whole work day on this site, since I am paid to stay in front on my computer all day when I do work. Probably a good 3.5k or more of my posts have come while at work most likely.

I used to post from school when my teacher wasn't watching - but school is finished for me since 4 days - forever :D

Mara 07-06-2002 05:10 PM

I post from home. With a cup of coffe. :)

jpweston 07-06-2002 05:41 PM

Guilty.

Like trickykid, my job requires me to be in front of a PC all day.

The best way to get rid of a temptation is to give in to it. :D

he he he he...

I had an incredible amount of work to do tonight, but instead I sat here glued to my chair, posting here. I probably had at least 12 hours worth of work, now I have about 3 hours, actually 2, to get it all done. Guess I will just leave it for the poor chick tomorrow night. She posts on her favorite forum all night too. Forum chat just must be the most addictive thing since freakin Heroine.

Anyway, figured I would give all you good tax paying US citizens another update on how your money is well spent. ;)

Guess what I am doing now, I am posting from my workspace, as tricky, jpwetson and other guys I am attached to my own workstation(s) here, oh well there is nothing else better to do.

I am posting at work too, most of the time. I am in front of my PC all day long. But i am thinking of cutting down posting msgs in LQ, I plan to do more reading nowadays and I will be busy in late July soon, more projects going on. Have a nice day at work!

bigjohn 07-08-2002 04:15 PM

Is it not boring to be in front a screen all day? I, like Mara, have to make to with posting from home+coffee+cigarettes (not forgetting 4 cats and 16 fish/2 water snails) and hence consider it a treat to park my arse in front of my computer.

The police here take a very dim view of mobile phones (without hands free) I should hate to think how much I could clock up in fines with a laptop and mobile access (cos you can do a lot of damage in a 44 ton articulated semi - apparently!)

Actually I don't have to post at home, but it's much easier for me. I can post without doing 100 other things (I don't count mail, slashdot, bugtraq etc here...) :D

shoot2kill 07-08-2002 04:29 PM

Lucky that i have a multiplexer for the 5 PC I am using, so i am just looking at one screen. Sometimes, when i get tired, i would map network drive to one of our server to watch movie. My colleagues upload new film occasionally. :p

isn't that one of the top universities in the US?

Tell that to my unemployed friends who just graduated :p

Yeah, in a couple things, mostly graduate programs. They're #1 in niche things like Industrial and Systems Engineering. I don't believe the hype, I knew as many wicked geniuses here as I did in Auburn AL, and now I get to sit at the library all day and meet the ones who actually study!

Cheers,

Finegan

ah ya, but the hype for good unis supposedly stands you in good stead for employment even if the greatest mental energy you spend there was to decide which form of caffeine you were going to have each day... :p

then again, your unemployed friends would probably object to that...
