Post FPS with glxgears MSI K7N - Nforce

As I am concern, I don't play much with linux because I have rarely managed to run win games threw Wine. Certainly because I didn't try hard...

But I can give my FPS with glxgears. Here's my config:

MSI K7N420D - NForce with Geforce2 integrated
Bios 7
Driver : nvidia 1.0-4363
AMD 1600+ (1,4 GHz)
512 Mo (2 x 256 Mo)
1024x768 - 24b (32bits) screen resolution
KDE 3.0.1

flxgears gives about 800 FPS.

Does anybodoy elsa has this motherboard ? I am interested in his opinion and experiences.

Thanks.
Giz

If you driver your monitor at say 85Hz (85 refreshes per second) there's not really much of an advantage of being able to draw frames faster than this as you'll never see them...

cheers

Jamie...

Thought i would add to this. Just got a radeon 9000. Have 30 days to return it, but needed something today. Glxgears...

8805 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1761.000 FPS
10603 frames in 5.0 seconds = 2120.600 FPS
10605 frames in 5.0 seconds = 2121.000 FPS
10602 frames in 5.0 seconds = 2120.400 FPS

Quake 3 demo four 800x600 105 fps, 640x480 139 fps.

Havent tried any tweaks yet, just got isdn so gonna be gaming on here and the rage 128 pro i had didnt cut it. For some reason CS just doesnt work right. I tried the ATI fire drivers, and with both ati, and dri drivers CS has no textures. And the fps was horrible. Definitely need a gforce.

GeForce 4 DDR 128MB SE
AMD T-Bird 900mhz
640MB PC2100 DDR RAM
Asus A7M266 (mobo)

The only game I play is NeverWinter Nights, and that averages:
50-90 FPS, but does cut as low as 25-30 FPS if I'm doing other things.

I'll have to get glxgears running so I can post up about that.

Cool

FPS ?
Call the Q3 console in Quake (push the key just above the TAB key) and type in the Q3 console :
/timedemo 1
/demo four

Let run and when finished, recall the Q3 console by pressing the key above the tab.

This gives me 358FPS in 1024*768 High Quality. Not bad.

wow, the 9700 pro is bad as ****. Getting that. For the anihilator2 those are some pretty high fps. I have never heard of that card. Even the gf 4 mx's are pretty nice. radeon 9000 sucks, lol. cant wait to return it. May just put the rage 128 back in the box and hope for a dummy at the return desk.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the Annihilator2 an old GeForce2 based board?

glxgears:

2390 frames in 5.0 seconds = 478.000 FPS

I wouldn't have any idea about Quake and such- that's a game right??

Well I can assure you that I didn't type them myself but I did find it suspicious that they jumped from below 500 to well over 3000. I dunno- I just put the card in, ran glxgears and that's the output. It has done the same in subsequent runs of glxgears as well. I have been using a Savage S3 w/ 8M for several years. What do I know about video cards? What could cause this to be? Oh BTW- I did notice that the cpu was maxed out.

gears i get approx 1800fps with a 1.4athlon,
512mb ddr ram, and a geforce2pro...
