Here's another. It's not my desktop, but it is a screenshot. ;)

Same as before, but with GNOME's Grass wallpaper:

Its all about personal preference.
For some reason, i have always preferred outdoor pictures.

I know this thread is old, but a) it's not too old (;)), and b) I just wanted to share my new laptop's configuration.

It's red to match the laptop itself (it's actually a kind of reddish-maroon color) :D

Unrelated: why does LQ automatically convert my image to a JPEG, and why does it sometimes scale it down by 1x1 pixel?? It doesn't really do the image justice, especially not on an LCD monitor.

Updated Screenie

Ubuntu 10.04, the auto-changing cosmos background. Pretty straight forward.

Ummm, your pic is tiny! Care to upload it to LQ so that we can see it full-sized? :D

EDIT:  nvm, you fixed it...

Yeah sorry bout that, I was messing around with photobucket's thumbnail option, apparently LQ doesn't support images in forum posts, I thought they used to, :p.

Very nice! (even though I'm not really an Ubuntu/gnome fan)

How did you get the CPU/MEM vista/win7 gadget?
