Personally I like KDE 4.4, but I can't say so for previous KDE4 versions.

Personally I don't care much for the Ambiance/Radiance Ubuntu themes. I keep going for the right side of the title bar when the window controls are on the left. It's kinda off-putting.

Well, I have got news for you: People who are used to working on the Mac will LOVE Ubuntu for the Ambiance/Radiance themes, while Windows users typically would like Mint's Shiki theme. It's all a matter of what the newbies were originally using that matters.

Look at the Terminal in that screenshot and you'll see how its name implies.

Fortunately you can change it relatively easy:
https://help.ubuntu.com/10.04/config...ton-order.html

it's also only in Ubuntu, Kubuntu (and other versions probably) don't have it.

Well, I have got news for you: Ubuntu isn't OSX.

Imo changes like this should be optionally on the left, default right, not other way around, especially not in an LTS release.

And I wonder what do they think the ratio of people coming from Mac and Windows is?

LXDE is really fast and minimalistic.

Thanks for that; much better.

Yeah, that's mostly what bothered me. The theme itself is okay (if a little inconsistent with the coloring), but the buttons being on the left side is a bit odd for me.

There already one thread going where you can post links to your desktop and it is in this forum itself. Why not continue it there.
