Originally posted by Crashed_Again neenee, very nice! I've heard a lot about this
dropline gnome and it seems to be very hip with
the slackers. Any reason why?
probably because it is very easy to install; it takes
care of dependencies, it all works together, it has
great font support (xft freetype antialiased), etc.
but to know how it is, you should really give it a
try as a slackware user.

i have been looking at some of the work produced with karamba and superkaramba and i have to say i am impressed!
i usually use fluxbox (cant wait for the next release), although kde looks tempting with karamba!
lets see who wins :P
anyway, what is the difference between karamba and superkaramba?? im a bit confused.
Karamba is the original program that allows you to create sensors. SuperKaramba is my program that builds on Karamba and allows lots of cool stuff because you can add Python code to your widgets. Most of the cool (in my opinion) widgets require SuperKaramba.
And SuperKaramba runs Karamba widgets just fine, but the reverse is not true.
Alright.... I've taken Jeremy's syndication a step further. I couldn't find a streaming karamba theme for LQ so I made one myself. Here it is in all its nerdyness
SuSE 8.2 & KDE 3.1.
I made the wallpaper myself with the gimp. You can DL it at www.kde-look.org if you like. Just search for Serial Experiments Linux.

Forgive me if I'm asking a dumb question...but how did you get your panel/desktop bar/whatever its called to look like that?
That's an awesome screenshot!

That's an awesome screen-shot!
Not a dumb question at all. The "panel/desktop bar/whatever" are superkaramba themes. Superkaramba is an eye candy utility that runs using Kde 3.1. It can also be used with other window managers.
The superkaramba themes that I'm using are hacks/rewrites of existing themes. Actually, they're almost mine now since I've modified them so much you can barely see the original code. My newest one is even cooler than the one you saw. IMHO
The LQ theme I wrote last night and posted on http://www.kdelook.org under Karama themes. If you want the ones I'm actually using get superkaramba working and I'll tar/gzip everything and post them.
Here is my newest. Sorry guys for posting so many similar screenshots. My desktop is slowly evolving and I just want to share
