have you tried ebay? they might have them for cheap

Sony sells the kits on the playstation website. I've checked them out.

Aside from all the hardware you get you also get a linux distro (a japanese disto based off Redhat) and some package software (I heard they copyright it). The software package is for programming so you can say write your own games for the PS2.

Thats all I know... and the kit costs $200.

If anyone buys it I'm open to hear if its worth the price.

My undersanding is that the Linux kit is of limited use. You could use it to play around developing for the Playstation, but you can't share your results with any standard Playstation users, and the included hard drive is no good for storing standard game data.

I bought it and its awsome IMO, Im using my ps2 as a web server most the time now... But yea.. Its running KDE 1x with default web browsers and email client, i compiled gaim on there.. friggin awsome. SLOOW tho, treat it like a 200mhz pc, with only 32 megs of ram. Its faster in fluxbox and other guis rather than KDE tho.

herd a little while ago some big headed guys clustered them combined the graphics chip with the cpu, which are on the same chip to create a mini super computer
