Its really annoying and just looks plain stupid. I find its usually people who just installed Linux a month ago and still have XP dual booting with because they need Photoshop and MSN.

All emphasis above intentional. Over the last couple of years, Microsoft has switched from being extremely customer-friendly, a perfect example of how to attain customer satisfaction, to one of the most anti-consumer entity in existence, with piss-poor customer service, intentionally breaking interoerability. They do not provide a DE-activate feature in any of their products (my company has developed activation technologies for smaller software companies, and we included de-activation features from the very beginning, and our activation is a heck of a lot more secure than M$'s btw).

They have NO reason to check whether I am running M$ Office on Windows or wine - it's none of their GD business and their purposely breaking interoperability is not only a violation of federal laws and statutes, but also a direct violation of various court orders concerning their monopoly status settlements.

I have gone from a M$ fan (I'm a former Microserf BTW) to a rabid anti-Microsoft integrator who pushes Linux and Open Office or OS/X and Apple solutions (and believe me I am NO Apple fan) at every opportunity.

Micro$oft deserves to be derided, boycotted, and driven out of business for turning their backs against consumers on one hand, and treating consumers as criminals on the other. ^H^H^H^H Microsoft and ^H^H^H^H Bill Gates for their anti-consumer stance. Every time I can convince anyone to go Linux rather than Windows I will, even if it means making $30 to $50 less on a workstation or laptop, or several hundred less on a server.

I agree with the topic creator its childish immature and just plain stupid. Maybe I will start calling Linux Lame-ixor dumbix or even worse SCO-Licensed-ix....Anyways seriously though Linux people are like religious fanatics sometimes.

lol well its not my skill. But I would have said the same thing to them. IMO using an OS is like wearing clothes you use whatever you are most comfortable with and you will be happy. If someone else doesn't like what you use then they can fark off.
