Trying to find a system that would fix my pc..
Tired online but nothing seem to help..

Are you referring to issues with Windows 8? If so, this is a Linux forum and as such, we don't typically support the Windows operating system. As ideas, you can either post at a Windows help forum or take your system to a local computer repair technician or shop.

If you are referring to a distribution of Linux you're using, what are the issues you're having?

It is pretty slow for a HP Hewlett-Packard that's fairly now..
Doesn't frizz,, the security is bad,, and needs some meager cleaning..

Would it be bad if I down load a factory software for it?

what is your cpu? What outputs :

with htop or top command in the console, you may check what uses 90% or more of your cpu.
Usually it may be a bin or evtl. firefox,...

these are Linux forums. Linux is an Operating System. It will run in its own on PC (and many other types) hardware.

Furthermore, indeed, systemd & pulseaudio are a curse of linux. Is it a code that started from Ubuntu ?

You still didn't mention what OpSys you're running but my guess is that it is Windows and all I'll say is that if you bought an OEM product with a system pre-installed there is nothing you can just download that is likely to make it any faster. You need to study and learn how to free up resources and get the most out of what you have or try another system that will also require a learning curve. No way to avoid it if you want the best.

Continuing the assumption that it's an OEM Windows install, go to Control Panel -> Programs and Features (or whatever they call it now; the place where you can uninstall programs) and get rid of all the junk that comes with it that you don't need.

Things like "HP Product Registration" or "Toshiba Video Player" or "Dell Music Stage" are all basically worthless and just slow your computer down. The only one that might be worth keeping around is one that manages the function keys on your keyboard.

Power consumption and how hot it gets are some of the few things that make me scrap my (often used) electronics... but, I'm not a capitalist. Maybe why we'd never see a lightweight proprietary OS? :p

Eddie, your HP is slow and more than likely your local shop or (reputable and well meaning) windows tech support person is going to give you a mistaken impression about its lifespan.

My ten year old laptop is fast.

For that matter, my 16 year old laptop is also fast, although it has been retired from the internet.

Your HP is capable of so much more than what it can do with Microsoft Windows, but in all likelihood YOU are the one who is going to have to do the work and the research involved to help it reach its potential. If this sounds like something you would enjoy, then welcome to an amazing, exciting, intellectually challenging mind blowing pastime that is simply too life-changing for me to feel right about calling it a mere "hobby". You'll undoubtedly meet a lot of wonderful people along the way.

If you'd rather spend that time on worthwhile activities offline, then that's okay too.

but I just want it to run smooth..it takes a good 1 to 3 min to load a new page..
and a good 5-7min to fully load youtubes page and need to make the load befor watching..
