You don't overclock an operating system!!

To the best of my knowledge, the best way to set CPU clock frequency is in the BIOS.

This isn't the place.

As was written, overclocking is not within the provenance of the OS. For overclocking, I would begin by trying to find some overclocking forums by googling that term and the make and model of your mother board and CPU. Your mother board or CPU may not prove suitable for the task; not all are, but good luck.

Open the BIOS settings page and change the settings----the details of this depend on what motherboard and BIOS you have.

Moving this to General.

As far as I am aware - you overclock the hardware (BIOS) ... not software (OS)

Linux
