Opera Mini IS AWESOME !
I just unlocked a cellphone that supports GPRS and now am experiencing the web on the phone.. And Opera Mini saves me money!!
What browser do you use or what do you do if you dont have a unlimited data plan to save them bandwidth?

Always nice to meet another Opera user.
I've used Opera almost since it was first released back in the pay-to-make-the-ads-go-away days of the desktop browser.
I might not go so far as to say "awesome"--it has its off days like the rest of us--but I find that it is easily the best browser, at least for my usage, both the desktop and mobile versions, in terms of all around features and versatility.

Frankbell it's nice to see you like opera so much :-) . I like opera for the mobile alot is the primary browser for the internet on my mobile phone. (for twitter & facebook i use something called snaptu .. thats another story, but its even faster.)
it saves me bandiwdth and is snappy..
On the computer i can't say the same though.. my principal browser is mozilla firefox and sometimes when some sites dont work in firefox i use chromium.. and i use opera when my connection feels to crappy..for the turbo thing..but if it had adblock plus i guess it would have been the primary browser on my desktop too.. but its one disadvantage it has just because its closed source...sad..really sad :-(
PS: i was expecting way more replies, since opera mini is such a bandwidth saving app and fast app and is just awesome i think every mobile phone java capable should have it installed and configured (also their website helped me alot configure my opera for telcel mexico :] )

(Grin) I use Firefox when sites don't work in Opera.
One of the things I like about Opera is its skinnability. I do like my eye candy.
One of my complaints about Firefox has been how clunky it looks and how much of the screen is wasted with toolbars and oversized icons, but I have finally found a Firefox skin that is acceptable. The Classic Compact skin greatly reduced the footprint of the toolbars.

I used Opera Mini for a while when I had a MyTouch 3G because the phone was so poorly spec'ed. Now that I upgraded to a MyTouch 4G, I've found Dolphin HD to be the best in terms of usability and speed. The past two days, Opera Mobile and Opera Mini have both been buggy. I'm not going to wait around for Opera to get its act back together again (which they will definitely do with an update at some point). Dolphin HD still works best for me despite the hype about other browsers (I've tried Browser, Steel, xScope, Firefox, and just about every other browser I could find in the Android Market).

my PDA runs Windows mobile, and its Linux port is CLI only and has no wifi, so I'm stuck with mobile IE and Opera mini. Guess which one I chose?

@Frankbell yeah I know Firefox's default layout sucks. Now with the new 4.0 version its fine (i dont customize its looks that much anymore.. looks like chrome and i love it)
@Ayyiiu yeah lol and the funny thing is that for me to, like 1 day after posting this it started only staying in the "connecting..." thing and didnt actually load anything while the native browser could sprint ... then i got BOLT and despite the old reviews that say its slower than opera, in my case it's been way faster.. :-)
@Joe Of Loath ohh good.. that's kind of a really not broad choice.. hhuh, if you like firefox perhaps get firefox mobile?

I used Opera Mobile back when I had T-Mobile Dash (HTC Excalibur) Windows Mobile phone. It worked reliably and I liked it far more than the IE; faster, more versatile, better screen footprint, and more configurable.
There is an Opera Mobile for Android; I tried the beta about three months ago, but it didn't like me. Apparently it's release now, so I'm going to give it a try.
I had one issue with my Opera Mini about a year ago and forget what it was, but an update fixed it.
As I mentioned earlier, I've used Opera for over a decade. It's earned my loyalty.

Since a while opera seems to not load any site anymore and just seems to be wasting my time while it just says : "connecting..." on bolt (which is where im posting from now) or the native browser is pretty fast huh. Why would this happen ? I didnt change any settings .. Would be opera compression servers fault ? Its not my provider ..:-(

It's the Opera servers. They've been buggy the past few days.
I'm using Dolphin HD instead.

Dolphin HD is an interesting browser. And I like a lot what I see in photos of it in action, it gives a Google Chrome like UI :-) Nice..
But I don't have an Android phone. I have a simple, entry-level Nokia 2320c-b2 phone that doesn't even have a camera :\
I want a Java application light enough to be able to use it on that phone.
Am open to any suggestions, but preferably I wouldn't like them to have more than 200-300kb... in "size"

Opera Mini really rocks. It performs better than the built in browser on my phone. And yeah we can even use our opera mini for free without subscribing to expensive data plans.
