Open Source "Version Tracker Pro" work-alike

Hi there,

If this is totally inappropriate for this forum, I'll go ask elsewhere, but I know there are many knowledgeable people here, so I thought I'd ask anyways.

I'm looking for an open-source equivalent of this : www versiontracker com/subscribers

The general point is that I've gotten totally addicted to emerge / apt-get / yum / others being able to check for updated versions of every software package on your machine, and would like something equivalent for my Windows machine (which I still need to have for various reasons which I won't discuss here).

It would seem that Version Tracker Pro is able to do something similar on Windows machines, but it's subscription-based, and I also don't like some software knowing about everything I use if I can't see its source code if I want to. Open source is the way to go IMO, and I can't seem to find something that does what I want searching on Sourceforge or Google.

So if anyone knows about something like that, please let me know! Thanks in advance.
