Online books

I am wondering would it be legal to download a couple of whole sites from the internet that contain a lot of Linux Books and HOW-TOs. Sites like http://blacksun.box.sk or http://www.gorkhali.com/kamal/download.htm#3. The reson i want a off-line version of these sites is that it takes me a long time to read the texts, which means a long time on-line, which means a $$$ phone bill. Second reason is that I am afraid the sites will get closed down like www.hackersclub.com did a while ago, and that site was full of useful texts.
Do you think it's worth doing something like that, or will it take too much time to mirror a whole site to the HD?
Thanks for any ideas, or maybe im just being paranoid cuz HH was closed and now im afraid other good sites like it might close down as well...

As far as I know it should be legal as long as your not redistributing them making money off of their work or anything like that.

Visit www.tldp.org (Linux Documentation Project) and you can download all those howtos and books. They are also provided in different formats, compressed or not.

Edit: correction of speling mistake in tldp.org

i got "Linux: the complete reference" that is basically a bunch of published HOW TOs from LDP. But im worrying about lessknown sites like blacksun mentioned earlier, or http://www.gorkhali.com/kamal/download.htm. There is a bunch of useful texts but im afraid they will close down and be lost forever!!
I am interested in mirroring these sites to my HD and maybe putting them on a CD, no intention to sell them or anything... i, just paranoid that they might get closed down. How would i do this? with wget? and what do you think how long will it take to download a whole site such as blacksun with a 56k connection? If i ever do this i'll be glad to send a copy of the site on a cd to anyone who wants to be able to read all the texts without being on line all the time (like me).. for free of course!
Tell me what you think plz..

yeah there was a site i used to use that i mirrored, and dissapeared a few weeks after... lots of good books i got out of that... as for the acutal mirror, use "wget -m" of course there's no guarentee you'll be about to mirror the site, it may well not let you.

and that linux documentation project is not what mara said, more logically its tldp.org

You know, it's a good idea to write to the sites' administrators and ask for permission.
To acid_kewpie: spelling mistake. I'll correct it in a moment.
