One thing I hands-down love about new linux OSes

Antialiased everything! And for lower color modes, error diffused everything! I just installed FC2, and it's like a Macromedia Flash OS. Damn, this is sweet.

Moved: Please try to place your threads in the most appropiate forum. If its not a question, it goes in General 95% of the time most likely. Linux - General is not the General forum.

Maybe you could explain how to get antialised fonts. That's the one thing
I absolutely hate about all four of the Linux OSs I've tried - the fonts look
like crap! Yes, I have the M$ TTF fonts installed, and in the font path. I
can select them, but they still look like total crap - especially compared to
the darkside's displays.

FC2 just comes with antialiased fonts ready to go ... I din't even do anything :D

if you're using KDE, go to the control panel->Appearance & Themes->Fonts and you should have some options in there for antialiasing. Maybe FC2 turn it on by default, but i had to activate it myself in Suse.

Thanks so much for the suggestion. I did that, and it maybe helped a tiny bit, but they still look like crap. Could be this Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 graphics card. I've thought that text didn't look nearly as good, even in Windoze, since I gave my ATI card away and got this one.

Well, Linux is still pretty much a "hobby kit." It'll get better with age...
