Thanks a lot, that's an interesting article. So it was Putin himself.
His speech is bombastic and coarse, with complete disregard of truth, reminds me of The Orange Baby.
But in the end, I see a lot of all-too-familiar cold war rhetoric. That's what we're going back to.
In Amsterdam ... quite close, people will die surely from cancer.
Radiations have crucial impacts on living.
Agrre again, but...
I feel relatively safe in Amsterdam:
“Heine, you know, said that if the end of the world were announced, he’d go to Holland, because everything happens there 50 years later.”
On Russian's TV channel, they show documents, that they think about nuclear missile, with UK as a target.
This was mentioned to erase UK from the world map.

That's old news already! The plan apparently is to drop a Satan missile into the Atlantic and create a radioactive tsunami that would sweep over the UK and destroy all of us. Doesn't sound very practical to me!
I think that you can trust the present leader of the Russian state far more than you can trust any present "western media" depiction of him.
Right now, I simply encourage you to embark upon an [on-line, of course ...] investigation of two specific subjects:
Crowd Psychology ("The Psychology of Crowds," "Popular Delusions and The Madness of Crowds")
Propaganda
(I specifically want you to pause(!) in the reading of the remainder of this post until you have actually and seriously examined these two subjects for more than forty-eight hours of serious examination. I'm utterly serious.)
Now imagine, given what you now know, that you are now looking upon these subjects "from the bottom, up." You're not the manipulator. Instead, you are/might-be the manipulated. I simply invite you to "open your mind up to" such now-informed thoughts.
Unfortunately, "human history is not pretty, nor is it simple."
(And to those who still indulge in "conspiracy theory," by my reckoning you still have 47.995 hours to go.)

The only realistic scenario of nuclear war right now is russia starting to use nuclear weapons. I don't think it's going to happen - even delusional putin is starting to understand how far behind they are on technology - when even cheap-ish NLAWs are obliterating their "modern" tanks, let alone Javelins. Or how accurate thousands of Tomahawks launched multiple times now (past conflicts) from US warships are compared to their guided bombs which they don't even have that many. I bet he drew some conclusions about that and is not willing to test NATO nuclear arsenal vs theirs. They have three "state of the art" Armata tanks, and even doing top notch maintenance and planning - 1/3 broke down during their stupid parade.

Well, There is a consolidation in Russia. Since 9th of May, it does "Ramp-Up" in Kremlin.
@Pagonis: I listened to two rather old experts (1 ex Moscow correspondent, 1 ex general) yesterday and they would both agree with you I think. It doesn't look good for Russia.
@Xeratul: yes, they're going to try to throw more people at it, but they are wary to do so because so far the population was more or less OK with the war, and that would change that.
I kept saying it since day 1: long term, Russia simply cannot win this. But they can still do a lot of damage before that. I'm not willing to bet that that doesn't include nukes. Remember how deliberately careless they were around Ukraine's nuclear power plants some weeks ago?

You know, that their soldiers were digging in radioactive materials in there. Results, 7 or more autobuses of soldiers were non longer healthy and had to be transported back to Russia.
I'm not sure if it's just the coverage, but I get the impression the Kremlin has cut down on pompous threatening rhetoric.
They must realise that it's not going too well for them, and that - definitely in the long term - they've really shot themselves in the foot.

They seem to have this kind of repetition : shooting in foot. They have this cultural mindset of "martyrs" for "good" cause.
Sending a nuclear missile on UK and destroying a nation, will certainly give them another shoot in the other foot.
They have this cultural mindset of "martyrs" for "good" cause.
Just because the madman said it once, that doesn't make it a "cultural mindset".
Keep in mind, the Russian people do not want this war any more than anybody else.
Today, very sadly, the Russian TV showed a threat, which would result in a total nuclear war and massive destruction of whole world.
The massive nuclear war.
