Unhappy no sound from speakers or headphone jack in ibm 600e


ive tried about everything i can think of i even tried soom of the answers i found here like bios ver-29,ver45 then kernel 2.2.14 i need some one to please walk me through step by step i know its an older system but it was all i could afford for my daughter for christmas so if anyone can help please do so it will never be forgotten.

You may have a machine with a sound card that needs one of the older oss modules. Do you know what kind of sound card the machine has?

Angry password protected????

does any one have the old service manuals for the ibm 600e or does any one know how to by pass "password protected"ibm thinkpad 600e or x cause icold build a good one out of the ones that are passwodr protected... even if you cant help thanks for at least looking into my questions...

Can you post the output for <lspci>?

Also, try using <alsaconf> in a terminal session to see if your sound card can be automatically configured.
