I wish him all of the best!

I thought you were talking about "one of the Torvalds" as in: someone related to Linus Torvalds. I wonder if this will bring any publicity to Linux?

Torvalds ... name rings a bell somewhere.

It is always good to see that a liberal politician is running for presidency anywhere. There are too few of them.

Same here. I'm German. :D

It was just recently that I found out that outside Europe "liberal" rather means "socialist". If any US citizen reads this topic, please replace "liberal" by "libertarian" in your mind. :)

Thank you for the notification. Notably for the information about the Swedish-speaking minority and the status of the Swedish language in Finland. Make more noise, up there... you are doing great, but our own Useless do as if your example did not exist and keep pointing at Germany all the time... Pfffff. Boring.

[I am German , too]

not the first time either.
my guess is he already was a politician before linus started his thing.

also, i don't think it's a particulalrly unique name amongst people of swedish descent.

thank you for pointing this out.
it's still different from country to country i think, but important to remember that.

in germany, one of the most conservative parties has the word "social" in its name ...

Or maybe he is staying true to his Taistolaiset roots. Some see discussions of NATO membership as a provocation and an invitation for a certain neighbor to roll over the border.

It could also be some kind of concession even though his son has carefully stayed out of politics. His son Linus is one of the most powerful men in the world these days if you think about how widely his kernel has been adopted. That goes double in this new era of Internet of Threats (IoT).

i bet this guy would like to see that neighbour to roll over our borders.

one spreader of misinformation is a guy called johan bäckman : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johan_Bäckman

there we go, mainstream wins again.

at least we got to see his face on posters for a while.
i was on the verge of mentioning to my (non-IT) colleagues who his son is, but the blank expressions on their faces would have pained me too much...

btw, slight correction:
