I was just booting a Win98 computer yesterday and I got this message:
I just got a kick out of that....
If you have not reinstalled by now you can try the following
Press F8 when the computer boots, then from the menu select "safe mode command prompt" or "command prompt" and at the command prompt type
c:\>scanreg /restore
This will give you a screen where you can manually select previously backed up registry, select a date when your Win98 was ok and reboot, hopefully you should get your win98 back
why havent you installed linux on the last PC in your house allreaddy?
Because it belongs to my mother, no matter what I try, she just won't let me install Linux on it. I have it installed on the other 5 though. It's really funny when I turn on my brother's PC and find on the desktop an installer for MSN (.exe), I just laugh at him and show him one of the many Linux alternatives.
