The only thing I've seen recently mentioned in tech new articles is ITRON, an embedded kernel used in a variety of devices by Japanese manufacturers.

I think s/he's talking about a very annoying ad. If you click it you then have to sign up to something. From the vague description it looks like some sort of cloud computing ad.
