Problem with that idea is it would only be suitable for red wine, port, saki and brandy/cognac. Anything else it would be too warm for and the red wine would need to be drunk within a week or so.
Well, unless you made a large beer/wine cooler into a PC case -- that could be good but I imagine the electricity bills would be high if you wanted to keep the temperature low.

It was a joke...HA HA HA

I didn't think you were completely serious but I am now wondering whether I could source a cheap glass-fronted fridge to try to make into a case -- might be the only way to get my damn AMD CPU to stop overheating.
Otherwise building a PC into one of those globe bars would be pretty cool and arch-villain-esque.:jawa:

You would find that the amount of heat that a typical refrigerator can pump out is very limited. A single 60W lamp left constantly ON will prevent the interior from getting much below room temperature. I've seen refrigerators declared "dead" when the only problem was that the door switch wasn't turning off the light. The power from a typical PC would totally overwhelm the heat pump.

:( You're right of course -- I didn't think it through. Darn shame though.

Yes, tons of times over the years.

This kit includes everything you need for a complete lighting solution. We include a Molex connector with power splitter, boxed inverter, and 2 acrylic encased cold cathodes.

But dont buy one so you can work inside the case with the power on, or even pluged in IMO, its too risky.

Yes, there are some conenctors that are at least in theory always 'hot swapable'. Its still not worth the risk.

Shouldnt need anything that extreme. But if you really want to and have lots of oney there is (or was anyway) this-

Or you can DYI something similar yourself, look up 'phase change cooling'.

If you have such a problem you should open a thread about it, maybe we can help.

When I can afford a new CPU cooler I'll likely ask for advice here -- until then I'm just avoiding loading the CPU enough to make it overheat (I've already changed the thermal paste to negligible effect).

I have had to use flashlights and such for decades. Very difficult to do this stuff in low light or less than ideal light.

I have seen the guys at work use all sorts of things from small to huge. I do know they make small florescent bars and led strips that may be useful.

One guy bought this, http://www.ebay.com/itm/181071879045?hlp=false&var= Not bad.
