That's because your cat either wants:

1) attention and love

2) food

3) a clean litter box

Please be nice to him and do all of the three.

Heck. Let him up on the desk Like I do with my cats. Mine lay all around the keyboards and mice and monitors.

Cats are great

Try to find him a soulmate if the meowing persists for more than a week

Or if your cat is "musically inclined", then have a look here you should find quite a few cats to amuse it/you (you will need flash player)

You will want to check out this site, it will truly get rid of your cat's meows along with preserving their graceful beauty: http://www.i-love-cats.com/

Even if that site is a joke....it's sick.

People, don't go to that site. That site has been kicked off of one ISP after another for it's sick content.

That is just terrible.

I don't understand why people do what they do to animals.

Dammit.

your cat meows?
how lucky you are, but whatever you do, keep your temper under control, somebody got a bit upset with my cat (possibly bcoz he kept meowing) and gave him a kick in the ear (left ear, oozing pus, bleeds occasionaly, looks really painful), and now his ear stinks because it's infected.

by the way, my cats name is Alice, because my mum didn't want to look 'downstairs' and just assumed he was a girl, but i have decided it's after Alice Cooper, what's everyone elses cats names?

and trickykid, i saw that site ages ago, and while i hate animals (especially cats), i think it's quite sick to do things like that to animals, i mean they stick a tube up it's arse for flip' sake +o(
not nice, and not expected from a mod.
and whitehat: that site is not a joke.

That crap is just (it makes me so mad that I want to take people outside who do these things and whoop their @ss)....

I mean. If you don't like animals it's one thing. Just don't have any then. Don't be mean to them just because you don't like them you know...

I cant figure out if thats a joke or real? WTF?
What sick demented freaks would do that? its got a 212 area code, (New York). Maybe we can get PETA to look into it or something, even thought i dont like PETA.

I was just reading through the mail on that webpage and they talk about it like its an art, like a painting or something. Cultures might be different but there is a clear difference between right and wrong no matter what your culture says is ok.

That would be great!

I am all for PETA. People need to stop treating animals like this.

Thanks Baja!

Can you even imagine how it would be like to live like one of those cats? Just try for a second. I break down when I think of how terrible that must be for thos cats.

NO, NO dont misunderstand me Whitehat!. What is funny is the fact that there are schoolteachers and other people wanting to purchase them for thier children. I think its funny that people that are supposed to help children can and want to submit them to such a sick hobby and they refer to it as if its an art. If i walked into someones home and saw a kitten stuck in jar I would break the jar open, let it free then Beat the SH** out of whoever did that.
