Military time junkies

I've noticed that almost all of the hardcore linux junkies use military time. What's up with that? I have no objection to it, but really, why?

i use it because its more efficient, theres 24 hours in a day, y not just place the hour on a scale from 0-23 (makes since as computers start count as 0) , instead of 1-12 and having am/pm which can get confusing if someone forgets to say am/pm

im also against daylight saving time ... its just to much work, i have to get used to a new scheduale, and also for the same reason obove: it just do not make much since and is less efficient (and i find only 24 hours a day very boring, i like to go 25-30 hour days when i can)

I set my machines to display military time but when I look at the time, its easily readable and interperated as 5pm or 10pm in my mind.. etc.
