Microsofts way of keeping you using IE
Guess what? I found how Microsoft is keeping people to use IE atleast sometimes. They're called ActiveX and Critical Update. While I knew about the latter i thought I was home free to use FireFox any other time. That was until I went to my favorite gaming download site, Fileplanet. They're download scheme requires ActiveX to work properly. Sure you can use firfox with it's alternate click ok when you can start downloading but if you don't get to your computer within 60 seconds of the download being able to start you get canceled.
I guess Microsoft will never completely lose it's grasp on the internet.
Note: For those of you who don't go to Fileplanet they have a system where they have so many slots open on their public servers and if those slots are full you have to wait for one to come open. With IE they use ActiveX to be able to start the download when your turn comes up. Without IE you have to keep an eye on the line and even though it says 26 minutes that could mean anywhere from 20-40 minutes.
