Microsoft UK plans 'open and honest' Linux debates

The Register reports that Microsoft is planning to hold debates on Windows and Linux with the pros and cons of both. They urge you to register for the events and attend.

I remember a while ago that microsoft was going to stop supporting win98.
Does that help linux community in any way to make several microsoft based software work under linux systems or not ? would that be of some advantage for reverse engeneering ? maybe programs like wine would work better? That, i think would be great, cause i wouldn't mind running old software from win98 generation on linux ! Sorry if i am a bit out of topic but for quite some time i have been wondering to ask these questions, more or less, i hope you understand.

regards

mario
