He, this is interesting. What does this mean in the bigger picture?
So SCO say's using linux is illegal because it contains copyrighted unix code. At the same time it is licencing that same code to microsoft.
I think m$ and $CO ($CO seems more apropriate now then SCO) made some knid of a deal.

i was reading elswhere and they say ms did this in case sco wins because there is some unix code in ms as well and they dont want to be sued next

That's entirely possible. I doubt our Justice Department will allow the purchase though.

microsoft has bitch slap the department of justice twice now. they can pretty much do as they please. it's a matter of deciding whether they want to fork money for legal fees weighed against return of $ from the expense.
