Microsoft Store employees have to dance?
http://www.fakesteve.net/2009/11/sad...ail-store.html
I wonder if anyone has seen this yet. I'll bet that if the American economy were stronger, those poor employees would quit rather than embarrass themselves in this somewhat Dilbert-esque manner. However, the person who wrote this up is arrogant and rude and somewhat over-the-top in insulting the employees (as I said, perhaps many of us might do this when jobs are hard to find) and calling their employer "the Borg" without even making clear that he means Microsoft. (Therefore, the Borg joke is too serious to be funny.) I wonder if he's correct in saying the Microsoft Store employees make minimum wage. I know it's Microsoft, but I made more than that working as a mere library page. |
I think this sort of thing is not uncommon at companies. But normally it would be confined to an office, not a retail store where everyone can see.
In Britain most retail jobs are minimum wage or a little above it. But minimum wage here is £5.80 an hour - US$9.72 at current exchange rates - so it's not a fair comparison. The blogger may not be mentioning Microsoft by name for fear of legal retaliation. Unlikely from this article, but maybe from other stuff he's posting (haven't read anything else). |
lol, well it doesn't look like the employees are embarrassed by this dance
although I think MS are trying too hard to get some attention and be creative with their competition with Apple. It's already sad that they designed their retail-stores like Apple. who know's, maybe the next MS OS will have a fruit logo.. |
hmmm

None of the screens on the video wall BSODed. That's a good sign for MS.
