Don't see it happening at anytime and if they did well, they'd probably charge for it and not offer free downloads, kind of like Lindows.

Any CD with this infernal code inscribed upon it would immediately turn into dark matter, reach critical mass, and rip a hole in the fabric of space. This would of course result in all life ceasing to exist.

Either that or they'd just do a real crappy job, but at the same time increase public awareness of Linux. People would then proceed to get a real version of Linux and Microsoft would lose a large batch of customers.

But that last one's too good to be true, so I lean more towards the first outcome.

Longhorn is M$ first attempt to steal Linux technology without acknowledging the makers of Linux. And it will always be technically inferior to it's parent Linux technology. Always

Nevertheless, the Microsoft drones that inhibite this world like sentinals and slaves of the matrix will buy into it and keep bill gates in business.

Nevertheless the Linux world will grow and force a general "peace" arrangment with M$as even now M$ is dependent on Linux to keep it operational on the Internet (because of the agent smiths, M$ own creation, constantly trying to take over) .

just my

Microsoft produced a short lived Unix distro in the early 80s called Xenix.
