Google Play Music suggested LEAH's "Ancient Winter" album to me. I'm listening to it now, and it's rather great.

You can stream the whole album from the band's YouTube channel:

I also really enjoyed Marenne's "The Past Prelude" album (same genre)

Interesting stuff - I wasn't aware of LEAH. Seems that she has quite a musical history. As for Marenne, I'd never heard of her either and she has some quite experienced support, with Marco H on backing vox. Weird that they just made one album and disappeared. I wonder what the history there is behind them.

Now playing Infestus - The Reflecting Void, one of my favourite black metal albums, all the more impressive that it's just one bloke doing it all.

This was absolutely epic. Replayed it a few times.

Will put them both on the list - need to update it.

For now I've been giving this album proper attention. I hadn't done so yet.

Katatonia - Rainroom

Probably their best album, Dance of December Souls comes a close second in my mind. From the 'clean' period, The Great Cold Distance.

This thread has slowed down a lot, which is to be expected. It did better than I thought it would, to be honest.

Great band - will have a listen later today.

And some Type O Negative because it's getting festive. I'm just pleased that I ever got to see them live, in London back in 1996, I think.

This was good - I don't know where you keep pulling these obscure releases from, especially the ones with female vocals, which are extra appreciated.

My very first metal album was Gothic by Paradise Lost which had a few rather good examples of this, the appeal never went away.

Here is another one, although a bit better known than my last link.

Estatic Fear - A Sombre Dance

This was pretty good, as a small bit of trivia metal-archives has 15 bands called Stonehenge, too bad this one seems to have not made very much music.

Here is another one, pretty different though.

Stonehenge - Victims Gallery

You and I are very close, then. My first was Icon by Paradise Lost. I still revere that band hugely.

I can never remember why the band name was 'Estatic' rather than 'Ecstatic'. Was it just a typo that stuck? Either way, you've reminded me about SSOGE:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h89c439WSUo

EDIT: according to Wikipedia it's intentional - "the first word of their name being a portmanteau of ecstatic and esthetic".
