Code:

which Christmas
/usr/bin/which: no Christmas in (/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/sbin:/home/kooru/.local/bin:/home/kooru/bin)

There is no Christmas in my world.
Anyway Merry Christams to all :)

Merry Christmas, everybody, whatever you believe or disbelieve. WARNING! Santa Claus reads all comments here, so don't post anything negative or cynical if you want any presents! :tisk:

The not-Christian people should be tolerant enough to just ignore it.

brianL 12-19-2012 07:19 AM

December 25th was stolen by Christians from other beliefs, anyway. They don't really know when Jesus' Birthday is.

Wow, the only thing missing there was the "Bah Humbug!" sign-off.

The correct social convention would be to say "thank you" and reciprocate the greeting/blessing in the same spirit as it was offered. Whether or not the particular festival belongs to a religion you happen to subscribe to is completely beside the point.

Have a wonderful Midwinter Festival//Mayan Apocalypse/Christmas/New Year(*) Everyone!

(*) delete as applicable. ;)

People who are not Christians, have not been left out of Christmas, some may, in effect, remove themselves.

frieza 12-19-2012 09:11 PM

merry christmas ^^

p.s., freedom of religion doesn't mean freedom FROM religion (ie, being exposed to other people's religion, including but not limited to, symbols, blessings, or other celebratory remarks regarding such)

if you celebrate Hanukkah or Ramadan for instance (ok, i pulled Ramadan out of a hat), you should be equally welcome to wish people a happy holiday, regardless of whether or not other people in the area celebrate said holiday. Part of practicing a religion should be tolerance that your religion isn't the only game in town so to speak, and just as you woudln't want to be told how to express your faith, you shouldn't tell others how to express theirs.

On the twelfth post in the Christmas thread, my distro sent to me:

Twelve coders coding
Eleven pipes a-piping
Ten cores-a-crunching
Nine lights-a-blinking
Eight threads-a-forking
Seven SCSIs syncing
Six games a-playing
Five Token Rings
Four patch-ed bugs
Three sent mails
Two unshaven mugs
And a kernel in a source tree.

Have a spectacular Christmas, everybody - and if you don't like the C word, have a great time anyway - I'll send you some duck tape if your face cracks. ;)

Happy Christmas, Pancha Ganapati, Saturnalia, and Yule to all (even to those who say "bah, humbug", which luckily the Divine does not).
