March Snow...Wha tha?

Because i'm really bored and for the simple fact that I CAN. I am posting a "Wha tha heck, it's March 16th and snowing!" thread. As I look to my right and notice the blizzard forming outside, I can't help but wonder why? It's not cold! And I live near Seattle, now that in itself should warrant rain. This reminds me of last Sunday up at Steven's Pass snowboarding and while getting on the lift, the board became stuck on someones skis and twisted my leg 90 degrees the wrong way, thereby yanking my knee out of it's socket. Bad knees already, so it happens easily. What a way to spend what was supposed to be a killer day. The powder OH the powder!!!!

I have seen this bizarre phenomenon. Some of this frozen water fell from the sky in big poofy white chunks, collected on the ground for about 1/2 of a sodden inch, and made the entire city of Atlanta wig out and shut down everything for the day. All of my neighbors tore off at silly speeds to purchase all of the milk and bread available while my New Jersey neighbor and I got into a snowball fight.

Cheers,

My gosh, I guess I didn't think about where people were and just assumed. Well, it's stopped and started all day and if I can, will send some your way. People on the other side of the mountains here laugh at us for shutting things down for a couple inches of snow, but then again it's 'hilly' (sp?, word?), so it differs. I done been through Atlanta once. Only the airport on my way to Hunstville for Space Camp when i was 13. It was a cool looking airport, LOL but that's all I saw. Alabama hd a buttload of red clay everywhere. :(

I've never been to Seattle. I'm still upset with that town for inflicting Starbucks upon the world. I fear that one day Starbucks may indeed open a franchise in my colon. I've been to Washington once, got out of the car, spit on the ground and noticed that when I got back from the restroom that it had frozen. Then I turned back on I-5 and headed back into Oregon.

Spacecamp huh? I didn't get the chance to see Spacecamp until I was 20. A good number of my college friends and an ex lived in Hunstville. It makes sense that they put Spacecamp there, just about the only place in the world more desolate and depressing than moon itself.

Cheers,

You doth spat on our soileth? How dareth you! HEATHEN!!! ;) I'll let 'er go this thyme with a warning, but only because you crack me the heck up! I've put in a good word with Starbuck's main office for a direct colon I.V. I was told it's quite feasable...I'll letcha know. Spacecamp was cool, and although a bit desolate yes, I had a 'blast off' of a good time. Tee Hee...Ok i'm starting in with my dumb analogies. You can shoot me now or in a month when i'm fat and ready...

I went snowboarding this year once, only because the snow in this God forsaken state (why am I still here again?) didnt stay very long. It was fun, and being my first time, the instructor said I did a decent job of staying up.

And that same trip I ended up hitting a patch of ice in my newly purchased car and flew off the road into a snow filled ditch. No damage. Got unstuck when some guys pulled over to help. I found out later that the previous owner disconnected the rear ABS.. why I dont know. Oh well.

Oh, and taz..... I vote to wait a month when your ready.

Yeehoo, it snowed here in NJ last nite. Second day of snow we've had all winter. Usally we get a few feet of snow a year but this year has been strange, maybe 8 inches all winter. I've been wanting more so I can get squirrelly in my jeep.

taz.devil 03-18-2002 01:00 PM

Well the yard is downloading an arseload of snow AGAIN today. It's actually sticking and looks like the white wonderland that Dec. is 'sposed to look like. I still don't get it, but oh well..It's nice to see.
I always thought NJ was a snowy area myself. Maybe you got lucky this year? Or unlucky if you like it. As for me, my Mustang ain't going anywhere today. Arrr Arrr, man-like sounds!! V8, rear wheel drive!! Rrr rrrr... ;)

I have often wondered what it is about cars and loud rumbling noise that some people seem to like. Care to share any insite on that?

neo77777 03-18-2002 05:05 PM

ah, nevermind

finegan 03-18-2002 05:30 PM

You guys are making me miss one of my old cars, a '72 VW: Jack Kevorkian the bad kharma ghia. It had no exhaust tubes running off of the oh my goodness 1600cc engine in the trunk so not only did it making blaring noise, it also made you lightheaded if you were at a stoplight for too long. 80% bondo/duct tape and love. We used to play games of who will win, Jack or the Trash can.

Cheers,

Finegan
