Making graphs
Hi, i want to make graphs for a project, what program will be ideal for it ? I want to make what appear to be complexer then basline onese (or so i feel)
My needs: 1)Bars (or colums) 2)labelling individual bars/colums with numbers (say xxx revenue) and years (numbers on top of the bar , 3)Ability to show more then 1 types of data , like surplus capacity over 5 year in bars/colums in % , plus demand/production of product xyz in a 'trend like' dots in numbers like 1000s of barrelswhich again display numbers (example attached) http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/151/graphyw.jpg/ Using Libre, or google docs (spreadsheet) I could only make basic graphs, but couldnt label the data or bars, or show % or numbers on or around the bars. Note: I will want to export that graph to jpg or some other photo format. And will appreciate if i dont have to learn alot to genearte graphs (need like 6~10 of those) Thanks in advance. |
Hi,
I think Pchart is what you are looking for. It's fairly powerfull. I personnaly use it for years now. and it's quite quick to learn how to use it. http://www.pchart.net/ PS: You will need PHP ti use it |
Thanks, but I dont know PHP (i use linux because I like linux, i am not a programmer, far from it, an accountant) is there any simpler option?

gnu plot is most likely already installed
a lot of programs will pull it as a dependence octave ( the open version of matlab ) dose openoffice - makes graphs and can pull gnuplot |
thanks for suggestions, they are pretty nice, but I dont know PHP or C+++ etc, Is it that hard to create a bar graph with line and display the values ont that chart that i have to learn some language for it!?

With Gimp you can create coloured rectangles and also use the 'guides' feature to measure in percent. The problem is of course you need to be familiar with Gimp (and layers), but its really quite simple. Gimp comes in very handy for all types of graphic uses. |
Thanks I will keep Gimp in mind next time.
I found google's chart tools and they were quite convinent , with google's chart wizard http://code.google.com/apis/chart/im...rt_wizard.html The question for me is now resolved. Thanks. |
