I'd have to agree with bolinux on this one. You should explain and backup your reasoning to start a new person only use to opr coming from Windows systems onto Slackware...

Post constructive posts, back up your reasons or replies or don't post at all, simple enough eh?

Just to have fun I was going to just post Suse, but chickened out. They have one of the easiest installs I've seen and they're configuration is fairly simple. BTW whats wrong with Mandrake?

If you are wanting a nice clean distribution where the users coming from a Windows background are going to be using, I would not suggest Slackware.

Slackware can be very easy for some, in configuration, setting up but for newcomers it can be very daunting. There is lots of configuration by manually editing and so on.

If you want your users to learn Linux, go with Slackware, if you think your users are not inclined to learn, configure by hand and so on and only need a nice interface to work with, GUI, and so on, I would go with Lycoris, Mandrake, Redhat, Suse and possibly Lindows, that's if your wiling to pay for it.

I agree with you, but you must admit the discussion that followed was interesting and the most humorous stuff I've read today.:D bolinux and Kurt read like Abott and Costello, "Whos on first..."

Can be funny, but it was also frustrating looking at bolinux's reaction the second go round... So in the future, if someone has a serious question, give then a serious answer. And if its more along the lines of either explaining your answer as there can be more than one answer, back up your reasons and post constructively. Some are here for answers, some are here for goofing off..

In some cases, if your going to goof off, ask yourself before posting, is my reply going to be helpful in anyway?

Are you joking, or is this a real question? Who was on first. The joke was about naming people names like Who and What. Here the word is capitalized because it's being used as a proper noun. Who is a name. Pretend its Chinese. Mr. Who.
"... Who's on first, What's on second, and Idon'tknowwho's on third, ..." and I didn't miss any spaces in the quote.

No need to start a new one. You can easily get back on topic. or maybe browse for the other thread we have existing already covering this topic.. ;)
