Run cygwin's setup.exe, scroll to the Development section - it's there.

I tried to install cygwin with 'make' installed from develop during installation. I can even see 'make.exe' in bin folder, but still while running the make command, it still shows error.

$make
make depend
make: /bin/csh: Command not found.
make: *** [all] Error 127

I was confused in one other part. Should I put the bin folder in some specific location or just wherever it is placed during cygwin installation? I was running VIC model, I don't need to place the bin folder inside VIC source code folder.

Thanks
Sham

VIC model /bin/sh error [SOLVED]

Mash,

If you are running VIC model and you get the following error:

Quote:
$make
make depend
make: /bin/csh: Command not found.
make: *** [all] Error 127
The solution is simple: Go to cygwin installer by clicking setup.exe, go Shells, and choose to install tcsh, IF you are using windows.

If you are using linux, you just need to install a bash shell, eg. tcsh, csh

Quote:
apt-get install tcsh csh
or something similar.

Problem solved.

Regards,
Mlenge
