low level hardware access
I am using CREATIVE 48X cdrom which comes with remote
i plan to use it ie to write device driver for remote on x86(586) architecture CDROM have irq 15 i/o 0x700-0x707 can any one tell me procedure to handle or to read signals of remote THANKS for all in advance. |
you're going to need to get hardware info from the manufacturer. you can email them and ask them to give you the info you'd need - i/o codes, a bunch of hex #'s, ect... chances are that you'll need to talk to someone in engineering or design - sales reps aren't likely to be very helpful.

I think you'll find that your remote is already supported by the linux infrared remote control project (hereafter known as lirc), have a look at http://www.lirc.org/index.html and here for a creative remote config.
