low level hardware access
 
I am using CREATIVE 48X cdrom which comes with remote
i plan to use it ie to write device driver for remote

on x86(586) architecture
CDROM have
irq 15
i/o 0x700-0x707

can any one tell me procedure to handle or to read signals of remote

you're going to need to get hardware info from the manufacturer. you can email them and ask them to give you the info you'd need - i/o codes, a bunch of hex #'s, ect... chances are that you'll need to talk to someone in engineering or design - sales reps aren't likely to be very helpful.

I think you'll find that your remote is already supported by the linux infrared remote control project (hereafter known as lirc), have a look at http://www.lirc.org/index.html and here for a creative remote config.

I have mailed to creative one & half weeks ago to which they have replied (automatically generated one) they will mail within three working days, but no mail yet.
