Looking for high-res LCD screen

Hi,

I'm searching for a high resolution LCD display for desktop use. It should have at least resolution 1400x1050 and maximum size of 19 inches.

The only one I've found so far is 19'' iiyama for a whopping price.

I have 1400x1050 on my 15 inch LCD laptop display so why can't I find anything with a higher resolution for desktop use?

Do you know about some?

Thanks,
R.

First hit (but in the Netherlands...) : http://www.mycom.nl/MyCom/Store/prod...&productType=1
Quite a difference in price , though I didn't check the specks with the one you posted.

Edit : Yours appears to be a tad "heavier" in the specs , it seems...

Most 1600x1200 TFT monitors start an inch bigger (20"). Besides the higher rate of pixel defects during fabrication process, I think the reason not many smaller desktop TFTs offer higher resolutions may have to do with the fact that Windows does not yet do scaling and that switching to lower than native resolutions on a TFT screen makes the picture look bad.
I wouldn't be surprised if more high DPI screens suddenly become available once Vista is released. But I could be wrong of course.

Thank you guys.

So it seems that the display producing industry is still unaware of the market opportunity that gnome users represent.

I love the way gnome looks on my high-res laptop display and hate all the precious pixels wasted on my old 17" CRT screen with 1024x768.
