looking for a linux based pentesting forum

I know plugging other forums is frowned on here .
BUT
this subject is out of bounds here .
the ones I keep finding with google all assume your running windoze or they demand you run a systemd distro

anybody know of a good one

Not mentioning forums, but have you tried Kali Linux's website? If not, why not see about starting one here? It would initially be work but it might grow.

While I'm not real clear on exactly what your question is.

I take it you have not looked hard enough at Google, I typed the following into it; "linux pentesting forums", I get several hits;

Below is the first one:

https://null-byte.wonderhowto.com/fo...-best-0168676/

Also, why does it have to be a "Linux based forum"? Why only a "Linux based forum"?

Most of the pen-testing packages on Kali can be installed on other distros.

What's special about Kali is that they are included out of the box.

the same for " BlackArch "
the tools are there to be installed

Arch is a GREAT os to learn about what a operating system is
( without building "linux from scratch" )

systemd can be safe, even tinfoil hat NSA/CIA safe to use
if you know what NOT to allow to run and leak information

just like the things that NEED!!!!! to be disabled in firefox for tor and freenet to be safe to use

so why this ?

is it because it is new ?
or adds extra levels of complexity ?

systemd comes from a U.S government contractor .
the bugs
it can't be monitored except by it self
non human readable log files
it's bloatware with 270,000 lines of code who knows what's in it
( I'd be willing to bet there is a government back door some where )
( after all " systemd comes from a U.S government contractor . " )
it's is messing with way too much of the system

And so dose SELinux

YesItsMe 10-13-2017 08:43 AM

OpenBSD could be the solution for you.

Everything isn't an al-Qaeda conspiracy theory. There aren't any sleeper cells conspiring in caves to blow things up with systemd. Systemd sucks ass for other reasons.

I use Kali Linux ARM64 packages on my Raspberry Pi 3 to penetration test. The Pi has no BIOS so it can't be bricked by l33t ISIS h@xs0rs, or whatever you crazy 9-11 truth deniers believe these days. LOL

now that you brought it up I find pottering's response was quite telling
" it's doing what it is spouse to do "

WHAT THE FUCK!!!

systemd is spouse to brick mother boards
my questi8on to hem would be tell us what other cyber weapons are in systemd

at least you can chose not to load the SELinux module ( at least in slackware ) it's getting harder to not run systemd just about every day
the Trojan horse called systemd has been so malignant
that you can't find a pentesting distro with out it
it looks like the only way of coming up with a pentesting distro
that I can be sure it's NOT phoning home
is to install a fork of arch then over lay blackarch on it

Pentest for-them...

GentleThotSeaMonkey 10-14-2017 12:53 AM

I found interesting forum possibilities from this Google:
pentest|penetration|hack* intitle:forum intitle:best
More on-target, take out the OR hack*; DDG uses t:

I also found "without linux" pentest e.g. this, so if M$WinOnly can pentest
one can add non-systemd pentest tools to Slack* (DW e.g. wifislax?)

But if systemd is TheUltimateEvil, wouldn't one want to pentest it?

Like when someone asks: "who's gonna make the coffee?", you could
contribute a PenSlack.{wix,github}.com to the non-systemd world ;)

jamison20000e 10-14-2017 03:10 AM

Is "hack" this sight still around?
