Little known facts about the internet #1

A user in my work called the helpdesk because he'd mistakenly sent an email to * and insisted this would send to everyone on the internet. He wanted me to 'recall' his email.

Despite:

- The 'Your message could not be sent ...' message.
- My re-assurance.
- The fact he's an accountant with no IT knowledge.

...he assures me it must have sent.

Therefore: Little known facts about the internet #1:

Sending an email to * sends it to everyone on the internet.

P.S. My appologies to you all for the email you must all have received.

I'm so glad it's friday.

Dave

since he knows that * is a wildcard, shouldn't he have thought about doing *@*.*? or maybe *@.*.*.* to get all the universities too

HHHHHuuuuummmmm!

Spam. Nice, sliced, dipped in flour, dipped in batter, deep fried and served, seasoned, and drowned in Worcester Sauce.
