Linux World

As a personal Linux user since 2003, I think I would like to take some of my knowledge beyong my own personal office.

The Linux world, or the computer world, is so vast, that I don't think one can pinpoint what is exactly needed out there to become a systems administarter guru.

However, there must be some guidelines.

I understand the basics of Linux and Windows XP, networking, programming, device communication. But does anyone know of any specific areas of knowledge that are must when seeking out a profession?

I guess I could use the ISO 7-Layer networking as a guideline.

Also, does anyone know of any good places to find introductory information about microsoft networking (ADS, Domain Control, etc.) and protocol technology (pptp, l2tp, pppoe)?

Thanks!
Mords
