Linux sysadmin / Hong Kong

[ Hopefully this isn't totally inappropriate for LQ.. ]

I have been (semi-seriously) toying with the idea of relocating to Hong Kong. This would be in ~4 years, after I complete some commitments in the US.

Without going down too many tangents, I'd be curious to know from someone who currently lives/works in HK what the job climate is like for a western expat Linux/FreeBSD sysadmin. I speak fluent English, and my Cantonese is terrible. (But I have time to actively work on it.)

Thanks in advance for any relevant feedback.

Greetingz!

I've been to both Hong Kong and Singapore, and let me just say (speaking from one Texan to another); You might get homesick. Real. Bad.
After about six months, I couldn't stand the lack of decent booze, firearms, and food. Not really much to write home about.

However, Singapore is CLEAN! They must scrub the streets by hand or something, the whole place is like DisneyLand (but with it's own prison system).

Thanks for the reply. I've read through a number of Hong Kong vs. Singapore "debates" for expats.

If you (or anyone) can speak to the job climate situation I described in my first post, I'd appreciate it.
