Linux shockwave player

Does anyone know if Linux will ever be able to support a shockwave type of player so my kids can finally come on board with me in the Linux world?

There are certain online games that they like to play that require shockwave player. I want to ditch the windows machines but keep them solely for this purpose. What makes shockwave so special?

There is no Shockwave for Linux you can use wine or CrossOver Office to install the windows version.

There are tons of online games that use Flash and java that will work just fine in Linux.

...yeah.

I wasn't even aware that the "Shockwave problem" hadn't already been solved in Linux. I guess I've never been to a website that used Shockwave, since I don't use Windows at all. Adobe's usually great when it comes to Linux support, Flash being a prime example. So this really seems like a shame to me, and I can only hope Adobe either starts supporting Linux with this or that Shockwave itself never becomes as ubiquitous as Flash has.
