Have you tried cygwin?

http://www.cygwin.com/

well.. I have not tryed it.. I am going now.

What is your opinion about it?

vharishankar 01-07-2005 09:41 AM

Never used it. Just got the link from www.google.com :)

3p0ch 01-07-2005 09:48 AM

Well.. i just downloaded it.. but it does seem much of a help.. I used google too.. but google doesnt try what it brings out...

It does even seem to work..

Anyways, you dont seem to have understood my request.

Im not looking for something that emulates Linux, it can be, but it can also be just something better thatn cmd.exe

So, it will be able to do the same thing, but with a better enviroment, more commands.. etc..

What you say fits cygwin to a tee. Its not a Linux emulator by any stretch of the imagination. It is a Linux-like environment that provides shell scripting and Unix-like commands in the terminal.

Did you even install it? It looks like you're writing it off even before you try.

3p0ch 01-07-2005 10:01 AM

Well.. i tryed installing it.. but nothing will happen.

vharishankar 01-07-2005 10:02 AM

Did you download the setup.exe file from their website and run it? If so, what errors are you getting?

3p0ch 01-07-2005 10:05 AM

I didnt get any errors, nothing happens...

Then i tryed reading the documentation, but it doesnt make any sense..
