Linux Server, Windows Desktop
I have a small office with about 8 computers networked via peer to peer with Windows XP. I'm finding employees installing programs that I don't want on the network.
I'd like to install Linux server to restrict user permissions on the windows machines. Is this possible? Recommended distros for doing this? Eventually, I'd like everything on Linux but that would cause a small war right now. Thanks |
Hi,
And welcome to LQ! That's not really a Linux-Question ... all you need to do is to take local admin rights away from staff, and set-up user profiles on a samba-server that will store "My Documents" on the server for them. I'm moving this to General. Cheers, Tink |
