Linux Robot. Does it be possible??

hi all,

Well I guess its possible you would need a heavly motified kernel and version of linux and it would probably be ony useful for that machine. I don't know I use a handyboard for robotic programming I never got much under the OS side of thigns for robotics.

Is it possible ? Depends on whether you are resourceful or have resources ($$$).

I'm thinking of building something like this; http://axis.unpy.net/index.cgi/etchcnc

The software running these motors is EMC from linux cnc.org. It's intended to be used for metal and woodworking but can be adapted to other uses. I've used this software and had a lot of fun with it.
Those robots in the link you provided are on a whole different level of complexity and cost. Have you asked this question elsewhere ? There must be forums dedicated to robotics.

Interesting. How about making a household robot? Washes dishes, cuts lawns, sweeps, vacuums, etc.
