last resort: writing on mmore 800 mb cd's

Hi guy's. I got this pack of empty 800 mb/90 min cd's. The brand is mmore.
I can't seem to write on them. First of all, the reported capacity (by the writing software) of the cd's is somthing like 80 mb's. So I force writng to the cd's by enabeling overburn. But when I try to burn any thing, I just get an IO error. The write mode I tried was DAO, cos TAO has been known to fail with overburn. To make sure, I also tried TAO, but it also faild.
Writing on 800 mb cd's of other brands work fine.
This problem occurs in both windows, with nero, and under linux. (Hence my post in the general section, since it isn't a linux question).
Does any one have an idea before I toss the pack away (or give it away)?

Seems to me like this is a problem between the media and your cd-rw (the fact that windows/linux both don't like it, supports that).

Looks like your SOL.

BTW, are these cd-r's or cd-rw's?
And do they burn normally? (ie. not overburned)

90 min? Hmm..

I don't suppose you can return em at this point? If not, I'll be glad to post to a thread if you start it on creative uses for coasters ;)

Cool

To cuckoopint: These are cd-r I am talking about. And I have tried them without overburn, but then it (the software) say's the amount of data exceeds the capacity of the media.

He, if any one knows any thing creative to do with cd's please tell me. I'f got lots of worthless ones. Thanks for bringing that up MasterC
