Large up to date repository distro

I know it's a bad question but I just want a distro that has a big repository, like gentoo, except binary.

I tried arch64 a while ago but it had soo many problems. And although its packages are up to date (slightly more so than gentoo, actually), the repository didn't have as many programs.

I like ubuntu, I just want a better repository. Online games (like wesnoth and bzflag) only play online if you have a recent enough version. So you're stuck downloading soruce, using apt-get to find dependencies, and building it. It's unconvinient -- they expect us to do too much work to install software.

Mandriva 2006 Free has 2.0.2-2 in their main repositories. Once you install mandriva, go to http://easyurpmi.zarb.org/ to set up urpmi.

Just my opinion and results may vary, but I've had much better luck with urpmi under mandriva than with apt-get under ubuntu or redhat.

I do plan on moving to Kubuntu eventually, the community is growing faster. But I couldn't get to the bottom part of the menu for wifi configuration (resolution 1280x768). There was no scroll bar.

Good luck, as I suck at bzflag.

Fedora is pretty bleeding edge. Its not so bad if you don't mind reinstalling an OS every 6 months. To compare to debian, its repository including the extras and livna is probably about 3/4 the size of debian's. Packages seem to update on a weekly/daily basis. I have yum running nightly.
