Man, I am so bummed that S.Korea won against Italy. Not that I'm a huge Italy fan, I just wanted to see S.Korea out.

I'm really stuck on Friday as I'm cheering for the U.S. and Germany through the cup and they're playing each other. I guess I should just look at it as a win/win situation...

Ugh.

The other day I was talking about World Cup with co-workers, and we realized that S.Korea never met with Japan in this World Cup at least, and the only chance for them to meet would be finals, Korea made its way out to Quaterfinals and Japan didn't. But I bet for Brazil, we'll see who's gonna come out dry from England vs Brazil.

yea ireland deserved a win, the way they played. it's a real pity. i was rooting for them, although i betted on spain . didn't get my money though. bets are all based on full-time results!
their penalty shots were really abysmal though. gotta work on that.

and the koreans deserved their win too. it was clear they were outclassed by the italians. but the pluck and the undying spirit they showed was really something to watch.

No, they have a bulletproof tactics, of course they miss out opporunities to score and a golie is pretty good, but as a team they have an understanding on what is going on on the field. They're gonna win if judgement would be fair enough not as in a case Italy vs Korea where the referee was in favor of Korea, man I have Italians at work they were crying like babies.

brazil has bulletproof tactics? well, from what i've seen, it's backline is weak and midfield is unimaginative. what they have got is ronaldo and rivaldo and the entire team's running speed of lightning that no other country can yet match. if belgium could hold them off, i think england has a chance of beating them. it's gonna be close...

and yea, the koreans had luck on their side, but you've got to admire them for their persistence.

italy dug its own grave in my opinion. they had good chances and they outclassed the koreans. yet they didn't bother about keeping possession of the ball. they didn't attack as a team. i mean they're so skilful, so much so that Vieri could single-handedly take on the entire korean defence at times and outplay them! i mean, that's 1vs5! so why was everyone hanging in their own half? if they had brought the game into the korean half, they would have won...

but well...

ya, well said tundra!
but thats the whole problem with the european teams, they're skill is unbeatable, but there's no stratergy!

but the refs' sidings with korea, are getting abit suspect.......

i dont think there was a dive, and in the portugal match....
that was the MOST unconsistent refing i've ever seen!

Im from Italy...
Fuck that ref...
But it's true, we relaxed too much and missed good chances! I beleive trapatoni (coach) has some fault too in that, although he was going crazy during the game trying to get players to play better...
Italy out... sniff, sniff

aye it didn't look like a dive that one. but it didn't look like a bad tackle either. i think the ref should've just waved play on.

and yea, the refs always favor the host nations. look at france 98 finals!!!

I'm not knocking the Brazilian team, but that game with Belgium vs. Brazil was pretty close.

yea... makes me unwilling to bet on the spain v korea match. somehow, i get the feeling it's the end of the road for korea though. there's only so far your luck will bring you.
