The first thing I used w/ linux was KDE, and I still like it. I also like that lightweight WM that comes with damn small linux... that wm runs nice. But I still prefer KDE over it.

Does it matter? Thats why we are using linux, we got selection... If you don't like this wm, I'll try this one, and just use the one we like.

DSL uses Fluxbox. See, everyone loves it. They're just in denial.

You're still spreading FUD

I don't know how old your computer is but I have an Athlon 3200 here, with full KDE desktop on two screens, several konqueror windows open, 4 konsole sessions, kmail, and all the kde background processess that you say are 'bloat' (plus a whole assortment of non kde processes) and my cpu is _still_ idle at 0% when it's just 'sitting here'. It takes next to _zero_ cpu cycles to simply hold an app in memory...and all the kde processes I have open still don't take up as much memory % as X itself (as shown by 'ps aux' and 'top').

And you know you like Fluxbox better
Sure, I like flux. It's installed on two of my machines but I don't like it better. It's a matter of convienance and taste. I prefer the kde apps to most of the standalone ones available (I think the sole exceptions from this are amarok, noatun, and kaffeine, I much prefer xmms and mplayer), and I prefer easily changing all the settings for my desktop in a single GUI, rather than editing config files as with flux.

You like flux, cool. Evangelize flux then, don't trash the other options, especially if you need to distort reality (read: invent figures) to do so. 10% my ass. You sound like a politician

Don't get me wrong, I am not trying to attack you personally, I just don't want any newbies who read this taking what you've said as the truth, 'cause it's not...
