You are obviously like 8 years old or something since that was my first post regarding you and if Mandrake is your distro of choice I doubt you could even manage an Arch install, might be a tad hard for a newbie like yourself.

To the thread, I'd honest be fascinated to see Bill Gates home computer setup. I've heard his house is majorly decked out with techno-everything, wonder if it's controlled by a Windows-based center in his living room maybe or if he's just got a coffee table full of remotes...

But maybe he thinks: 'If we can't get this working better, we won't make more money, and then I won't be able to make my very large charitable donations, nor will I be able to bring about the school reform in America. I have to do this, for the children.'

I doubt he does a lot with his personal computer. It's generally accepted that's he's no computer guru...he's a genius in the business world, not the tech world. I bet he's got a customized OS running everything in his home. The most that he probably does is surt the web and check his email (after it's filtered by a dedicated department at Microsoft). And I bet those things are done from some kind of integrated "WebTV" setup he has. If he does actually have a normal Windows PC, I'm sure it is kept up to date and is behind a firewall. I mean, the man has a whole TEAM of live humans to filter his spam.

I would have to say the same... but was it linux's fault? Not at all. One funky WD HD.

Once I got a decent HD, It worked neatly!

He'd rather buy a new PC though... There's no such thing like formatting HD.

I had to reinstall Linux a few times, but that was only because I kept switching distros...and I kept botching my LFS install. :P
